THE
DESTRUCTION SERIES
Stolen Love: The Destruction of the Black Family
Writer's Note: The definition for
destruction is found in the root word destroy. Destroy means to break to
pieces; make useless and ruin. It is further defined as, to put an end to; to
do away with. Thus, destruction is the act of destroying. Many institutions,
people, places and things are destroyed in the Black community. The family is a
critical area whereby destruction is taking place.
Racism motivated by historical, economic
exploitation continues to cause havoc and ruin throughout the Black community.
Tragically many people in the Black community have chosen the charlatan's role
and conspire with racists and the new liberals of 1999. The forces of evil
cause destruction of spiritual, economic, political and sociological aspects of
the Black experience. This destruction results in serious psychological ruin
that encompasses the total Black experience.
The Freedom Journal has made a commitment and has a responsibility to our communities
and the cause of humanity. Thus, we will do an on-going series on the
destructive forces in the Black community. Let be written that the forces of
evil and destruction are led by Satan. Satan is the guardian of evil and
destruction. Those that come to the knowledge of God the Creator of all things
can defeat Satan and his campaign of destruction. Without Unity and love in the
Black family the Black community is set on a course of Destruction.
Our Mother who brought to
life those that make up The
Freedom Journal passed onto the
eternal holding place Sunday morning September 26, 1999. We continue to pray
for peace and love in our family. But as creative artists we continue to paint
the pictures of life in words. We have a responsibility to record the often
confusing and illogical circumstances of the Black experience. From our
analysis "The Black Race in America" can be described as some of the
most confused and lost people on earth. How can Black people with so much
creative energy and talent be so lost?
We are the victims of "Stolen
Love." We also see many precious memories fade away. We declare also that
many dreams of joy also turn to shattered and scattered pieces of the jig-saw
puzzle of life. Who has taken my Mother's peace and my peace along with it?
I hear, smell and taste the heat of the sun,
of the days of a distant shore. I feel the sweat of the long walk to the coast
and see my Mother shackled and placed with a different tribe. I smell and bear
witness to the stench aboard the ship that claims to represent the Savior of
mankind. Once again I see my Mother snatched away to fancy the captors who
cause her to feed herself to the sea.
I see my Mother and my Grandmother standing
greased and naked on the auction block made for human souls that will be
bartered in the bid for life as the human beast of burden. I see the
crossroads, as I went one way and my Mother's love went another way. I feel the
hurt and pain when I was snatched from my Mother's breast and placed with
someone I didn't know. Was I too young to see my Mother's head bowed down as
she returned to the fields of white sin and blood stained bags that gave birth
to the Spirituals and the belief in the Creator and Peace and Paradise for my
people?
Those that kept our Mother bound to the
land, we know the reasons for the "Stolen Love." The record is clear
and the age-old drive to gain wealth and power has come to justify this action.
The phrase "folk wisdom" was recently introduced to me by one of our
readers. Thus it has been called to our attention that many of the problems in
the Black community are known as, and labeled "folk wisdom." But
"folk wisdom" needs to be placed in the realm of academic analysis. The Freedom Journal takes many aspects of "folk wisdom" in the Black
community and places them up for review. Many of these questions and concerns
cause Blacks and Whites to shake and flinch and often cause anger. Thus, for
the record we hope and pray that those of you that get angry, we trust that you
will take some action to correct, analyze and/or consider the merits of our
conclusions. Also bear in mind your opinions that are not coupled with facts or
data is like an empty pitcher or a fruit tree that bears no fruit.
We have some idea why the exploiters of
Black flesh stole our Mother’s love, but what about our own people? Why have siblings and people in our communities who look like us
stole the love of our Mother's? The human experiences of man have always
revealed those that are selfish and self-centered. The human experience has
also always revealed those that are weak. The existence of mankind has also
revealed people that have an absence of principles and values based on a strict
moral code of ethics. We hear a dissenter saying "but everybody believes
in something." We agree, but "what do you believe in?"
No matter how you look at it, the world is
in a constant struggle with good and evil. The evil doers outnumber the doer's
of good. The evil doers are spearheaded by politicians, preachers,
organizations and the immoral elements in our society. They believe in an
illogical set of values that contradict morality and what is good. Meanwhile,
this immoral code of ethics is viewed by the new liberals as good.
Those in our families and communities that
steal the love of our Mother's accept the immoral code of evil. As these evil
doers' function in an unholy alliance with the evils of racism and oppression
they are given concessions and materialistic rewards. The House Negroes
received rewards for their role as traitors against their own people. The
precedent of submission established by the infamous Booker T. Washington has
also been the credentials for the rewards for treason against the Black
community. Thus the historical record shows a system of rewards and concessions
to Blacks placed in the leadership ranks by those that offer gifts for treason.
The precedent of Booker T. Washington still reigns in the Black community as
the dependent leadership ranks receive concessions to lie to the people and
give them false hope in the fruits of submission.
Our siblings steal the love of our Mother's
as they practice a life of lies. Therefore, we see the ongoing evidence of
hidden values and an agenda of deceit. The selfish interests of lost family
members create a web of lies and untruths to counter the good in the family and
in society. "The Stolen Love" of our Mothers' is a sad commentary in
the saga of the Destruction of the Black Family. Mothers'
want to extend love to their offspring. To be moved to change from the
natural expressions of love is trouble, depression and a broken heart.
